The day at the clinic was coming slowly to a close. There were a few more patients to see, one or two stragglers, but otherwise, most of the work was complete. Evelyn had already looked at the schedule for the following week and ensured that patients were contacted for appointments and otherwise.

When she did not expect was to work with caden maher. She knew him from the Rocket medical bay, coming in every now and then to help with the poor souls who couldn't come to a clinic because of their allegiance to Rocket. Though, it made sense.

He was an intern. He had to do rotations. Evelyn was pleased to see him, and she was vocal about it throughout the day.

"Dr. Maher. Your last patient has checked in. I have obtained vitals and blood work. Is there anything else you need from me?"

Her voice was sweet, a sly grin on her face as she tilted her head to the side.

clinic rotations sucked. to be fair, most things sucked when you were an intern, but caden never had quite the interest for the private sector as some of his collegues might. you might have asked why, considering how much he could get on loan forgiveness and how serious caden was paying off said debt, but it really boiled down to one thing.

The poor man was standing, looking over a clipboard when she had entered. Evelyn wondered if he ever took a moment to rest in his life. Or perhaps he was consumed by his duties.

Both the façade and the Rocket duties.

Dr. Maher wasn't an unfamiliar face to her. She had encountered him a few times on the Rocket sub to treat several Rocket patients. But, it was a treat to see him in a normal clinical setting for once.

Perhaps it was her chance to see a different side of him.

"A check on her hypertension and diabetes control. Her labs are running, and she claims to be following her medication regimen. Her last capillary blood glucose was 120. Not too shabby."

She tilted her head, leaning against the doorframe.

"Ms. Jacobs also inquired a physical to be done as well. I can attend if you need me as a witness."
